Driving fast on a racetrack is relatively easy nowadays, thanks to the technology in modern cars, provided the required funding and some drivingskills are available.

From 1997 comparison became possible as the German magazine Sport Auto created a challenge on the demanding Nordschleife (NS) of the world-famous Nürburgring.

The benchmark was set at a drivingtime of 8'00" over a specific part of the track; therefore called NS8. Till now only cars costing far more than € 100.000,- succeeded.
